Last day of Pre-K....off to Kindergarden

Yesterday was Jacob's last day of Pre-K and it seems like only yesterday he was starting. Jacob has grown so much this year, literaly. There was a note in his bag that showed how much he weighed and how tall he was at the beginning of the year and now. He was about 50lbs and 45" tall at the start of the year and now he is about 60lbs and a little over 48" tall. He knows all of his letters and sounds and can count to 100. He writes his name very well "Left handed" but can also write it right handed. He usually colors right handed and writes left handed. Not sure why but I think it was caused from him breaking his right elbow right before he turned 2. He bats and throws right handed as well. Jacob has learned a lot this year in Mrs. Warren and Mrs. Perry's pre-k class and he doesn't want to be out for the summer. He doesn't understand the whole summer break thing yet but I am sure after a couple of years he will be begging for it. He started 1st Christian daycare today with Jared for the summer. He told me this morning that he has to go to the boring daycare today while trying not to smile. I told him he better not tell me that he had fun today when I pick him up :-) and he said OK I won't. He only has a week and then we start swimming lessons.

Here is a picture of Jacob on his first day of school and last day of school.

Last Day

Jacob,

Daddy and I are so proud of you and love you so much. You have learned so much this year in school and are growing up so fast. You are very good at writing and know all your letters and sounds. You always tell us what a word starts with or sounds like. You also learned your phone number, parents names, how to spell and write your name this year. You love to draw pictures of everyone. You had your first spring break away from us when you went and spent a week with your Aunt and Uncle in Texas. You went to Six Flags with Julia and them and the zoo and lots of other fun stuff. You had a lot of fun with them. You did very good in Soccer this spring. You are very fast and can kick the ball very hard. You are also very good at t-ball and are still hitting those home runs. You also had your first year of Sunday School classes this year at our church. Judy(great-Aunt) and Cheryl(family friend) was your teacher. You learned allot about Jesus and how much he loves you.

Mrs. Warren told me that around Easter time they asked the class what Easter was about and they expected to hear about the eggs and Easter Bunny but she said she was so proud when you told everyone that Easter was when Jesus died for us and rose from the dead. She said all the kids was so interested in what you were saying and you just went on and on about what you learned in Sunday school class about Easter.

We love you so much and are very proud of all your accomplishments this year.

Love you,

Mommy and Daddy
