T-ball & Biggest Loser

Tonight we have our first t-ball practice. Jacob is so excited. Kenny and his brother will be the coaches again this year. We will have a total of 4 players returning to our team this year. We are in t-ball level 2 this year and so that means that we keep score and it will be a little more competitive this time. Kenny and Jacob practiced on Sunday and he has really improved so much from last year. So now we will have t-ball on Tuesday and Thursday's and then Soccer on Thursday's as well. Who said they were ready for Jacob to start sports? Surely it wasn't me. We will be really busy for the next couple of months with soccer and t-ball at the same time.

The biggest loser that Kenny and I are participating in with the Hospital and the girl scouts sent out and email and said that they have enough people enrolled to give away the trip to Hawaii to the winner. We are one our second week of the competition and Kenny is down about 12lbs and I am down 5 lbs. I am guessing that most of this is water weight and now will be the hard part to keep the weight coming off. We have been going to the gym at least 4 to 5 days a week and doing about 1 hour of cardio a day. We have been on our diet and doing pretty good only cheating maybe once or twice but just a little cheat(if that exist).

One other thing about Jared that Kenny told me this morning that I thought was pretty funny. I think Jared is entering his terrible 3's like Jacob did or he is getting sick because he has been a handful the last few days. Kenny said yesterday morning that he was throwing a fit and Kenny told him he was going to spank his little bo bo if he didn't stop acting like that and Jared told him that his bo bo wasn't little he had a big bo bo(Jared is really big right now on saying that he is a big boy like his bubba) so I am guessing this is were the big bo bo came from.

Catch up!

Well Friday I took Jacob back to the Doctor and he said he was still a little wheezy but not as bad. He put him back on the steroid for another 5 days so he would clear it up the rest of the way.

This weekend we really didn't do much it was really cold Saturday and we had a chance for snow so they canceled the soccer games. We bought groceries and hung out the rest of the day around the house. Sunday we went to church and Sunday school and then to Sunday dinner at Mema's and Pepa's. On the subject of lunch I think Jacob is entering a growing spurt because he had 3 hot dogs with chili and a bowl of stew and a plate of Apple cobbler to eat for lunch on Sunday. After lunch Kenny had to leave early for a T-ball coaches meeting and the boys and I left early to go to a cousins 60 year diamond jubilee mass celebration in Elgin. He has been a priest for 60 years and dad was giving the sermon at the mass. Dad did a really good job on his sermon and even had a poem about the hands of priest...it was very good. Then we came home and I cleaned out my car while Kenny and Jacob practiced some T-ball. Jacob is ready for it to start and has improved so much from last year.

Monday around lunch time Jacob's school called and said that he had fallen off the monkey bars and bloodied his nose but that he was ok. Then about 2 hours later they called back and said that he slept for over an hour at rest time today which he never goes to sleep and that he just wasn't acting like himself. So I told them not to send him on the bus and I would come and get him. I took him to the doctor and they looked him over and said that he looked ok and told him to try to keep his feet on the ground from now on. While the doctor was looking at his eyes he was telling him to follow the light to his nose with his eyes and Jacobs left eye wouldn't follow it all the way like his right eye would. The doctor said this is normal a little bit but that we needed to keep watch it to make sure it didn't get any worse. He said you don't want one eye to dominate to much and if it got worse we would send him to an eye doctor to have him checked out.

I told Jacob on the way home that he could not get sick or hurt anymore for awhile...we have been in the doctors office with him about once a week for about the last month. He just smiled and said OK.

Last night we had some pretty bad storms at our house with wind, rain and small hail but lots of it. I had said at one time that it looks like a wall cloud to Kenny and I said look at it light up with the lightening...well the rest of the night Jared kept saying, "I see that whole huge waw cwoud an it was wightening up wots" and then Jacob would say "It is not a wall cloud Jared" and Jared would say, "yes it is I saw it."

Sick...sick...sick

I am ready for everyone to be well in our house. Early Monday morning Jacob woke up with a fever and so I stayed home from work with him. After lunch he stopped running fever and started playing and eating again. Later Monday night he started running fever again so Kenny stayed home with him on Tuesday and took him to the doctor. I am glad we did take him because the doctor said he was wheezing really bad and had an infection. They ended up putting him on an inhaler and an antibiotic and a medicine to help break up the stuff in his chest...we go back on Friday for a follow up. So he was out of school last week on spring break and then he has been out Monday and Tuesday of this week. Jacob has been asking us if he could please go back to school.

Weekend wrapup

Saturday we got to see Jacob for the first time in 6 days...at it was so Great. I missed him so much while he was gone and was so glad to see him. He had his first soccer game at noon and Maddie had one at 9am...so we were at the soccer fields until around 1pm. The guys decided they wanted to go ride the 4 wheelers at the river so we headed there after the soccer games. Then we headed back to mom's to eat supper with everyone.
Sunday after church we went to Kenny's grandparents house for Sunday dinner and then came home and while the boys took a nap Kenny and I got the yard mowed. It was so windy Sunday afternoon.

Spring Break - Friday

The last day should be a day of rest...which was. Lindsey said Jacob woke up and said what are we doing today...and she said "Nothing". Jacob had allot of fun and probably would have stayed another week if he could have. We really missed him but glad that he had so much fun. Lindsey and Jason and Julia really made Jacob first Spring Break one to remember. I am thankful for my brother and sister-in-law and their generousity.

Thanks for making Jacob's Spring Break a great one!!!

Spring Break - Thursday

Thursday Lindsey, Jason, Julia and Jacob went to 6 Flags the one thing he had been looking forward to all week. He is still talking about the roller coster that he rode in the kiddy area.

Spring Break - Wednesday

Wednesday Lindsey took Jacob and Julia to the zoo...it was half price day and she said by noon it was sooo packed you couldn't even walk around so they ended up leaving.

There was a place at the zoo were they could see how far they could jump...here is Jacob and Julia trying to jump as far as they could.

Jacob wanted this snake since we went to the Ft. Worth zoo in October of 2008. Lindsey said that when he got the snake that made his day.

Spring Break - Tuesday

This is Jacob's letter for Tuesday.
Jacob loves to draw and he ended up drawing about 50 pictures as a present for Kenny and I when he came home. He drew some really good pictures.

Lindsey was mowing the yard and asked Jacob if he wanted to sweep the grass, meaning off the sidewalk, and this is what she found. At least, I know he follows directions well.

Spring Break - Monday

I wrote Jacob notes for everyday that he would be gone...this is note for Monday.
Monday Jacob went to the park with Julia and Lindsey and then went to Gymnastics with Julia that night. When he came home he said he wanted to join gymnastics.
This is Jacob talking to me on the phone!

Virus, Videos & 1st Spring Break

Last Friday Jared got the stomach virus that was going around. By Tuesday he was finally over it and then I started with it Tuesday night. Sunday afternoon we took Jacob to Bowie to meet my Brother and Sister-in-law so Jacob could go to their house for his 1st Spring Break. He was so excited and had been counting down the days for the last week. I wrote him notes for everyday that he was going to be gone Mon-Fri. so he could read them everyday. I think he is liking reading the letters every morning. Lindsey(SIL) has been taking lots of good pictures of all the fun things they are doing. Jacob is having fun and so far only has had 1 breakdown of wanting mommy. This is his first time to go to Ft. Worth by himself and also the longest he has been away from us. Jared doesn't really now what to think about Bubba being gone. Everyday when we pick him up from daycare he says, "We go get bubba?" We miss you lots and lots Bubba. We love you lots and are so glad you got to do this. We know you are having fun. I will post pics of each day of Jacob's first spring break so you can see how much fun he is having with his cousin Julia. Here are some videos of Jared last week.

The boys love to watch American Idol with Kenny and me on Tuesday's and Wednesday's. Last night I told Jacob American Idol comes on tonight and so we all got ready to watch it and when it came on Jared says, "It's Hollywoooood Daddy". We try to get him to say American Idol but he says no it is called Hollywooooood. It is so cute how he says it...I will try to get it on Video!

Monday through Wednesday

Monday...the doctor called us back with Jacob's test results and everything came back normal. He said that if it started bothering him again to bring him back in. He hasn't complained of it hurting since Friday...so hopefully it was just a leg ache or growing pains. Kenny and I took off Tuesday to finish the yard work before it started getting cold.....and we did it!!! We got everything cleaned up for the most part. We are sore and scratched and exhausted but it was time well spent.

The Weekend

This weekend was a busy one for us. Saturday morning I had to attend and soccer training class and so Kenny took the boys for breakfast and then to Home Depot for this months craft project. They built little wooden race tracks and race cars. Then they headed to Lowe's to pick up some stuff for the church. After lunch we meet up with Papa Nose(Kenny's Dad) and went to the lake to go fishing. I bet the wind was blowing 20 miles per hour but that didn't keep those fish from biting. Well, it did keep them from biting every ones hook but Danny's. He ended up catching about 6 and no one else even got a bite. Kenny and Jacob both wanted fish so we kept them and when we got home Jacob helped his daddy "skin the fish".
Sunday we headed to church an hour earlier which was really hard. After church and Sunday school we headed to Mema and Pepa's house for good ole Sunday dinner. Tristen, Charlie and Brittany and soon to me Kensley came out for lunch also. They brought their rock band game with them for us to try out and I have to say it wasn't as much fun as I expected it to be....maybe it was because I only played a couple of times and it was pretty hard I thought. I guess the more practice the better you get. The boys had allot of fun playing outside and riding the Lightening McQueen Car around. Jared worked on his four wheeler(battery operated) and road the lawn mower around with Pepa chasing Jacob and Tristen in their car.
Once we got home about 3pm which is usually Sunday afternoon nap time we decided to work in the yard instead. We have a huge cotton wood tree to the North West of our house and in the middle of it was kinda our dumping ground..well not anymore. We work about 3 hours racking and chopping and picking up....and I have to add that Jacob is the best helper in the world. He was a champ at racking and pulling weeds and stacking limbs. We found 1 mouse and 1 snake during our afternoon workout. We still have allot to do but at least we have a start. It looks like we will have a couple more nice days to work outside after work and then we have a chance for rain and snow on Friday. This is some crazy weather.

Here is Jared sleeping while everyone else is fishing. He eventually woke up and joined the fun...isn't he so cute. The last picture is of the boys helping daddy clean the fish.
