Swimming Lessons

Yesterday Jared, Jacob and Maddie started swimming lessons at the Simmon Center. I take them from 11 to 11:30 every day for two weeks on my lunch break. Jared did not want to go and was really scared and cried the whole way there. Jacob and Maddie were really trying to talk it up and did their best. He was afraid they were going to make him go under water and he didn't want that. I told him they do not make you go under on your first day and so he was ok with going. The first thing they did was get each kid and have them go under water. GREAT...moms a liar now. :-) He freaked out...I told the teacher he was nervous about today anyway and she said ok we will try tomorrow. He did pretty good the rest of the lesson but you could tell he was a little nervous. Last night after work and the doctor office(another story) the boys wanted to practice what they learned in swim lessons. So I took them swimming and Jared went under once with my help and once by him self. He said Wednesday he would go under water during lessons. Today he did ring-around-the-rosie and he went under. WAY TO GO JARED!!!! He was excited about going today and he had a much better day.

Jacob started in the same class he did last year and they did a swim test with him and he was able to move up to Maddie's class this year. Yesterday he learned how to do the breathe stroke (using frog legs-he said). Today they learned the side stroke and worked on turning around under water and worked on diving in the deep end. He is doing really well on swimming. He would rather swim under water like a fish though. :-)

Here are some pictures of swim lessons.
