Last Tuesday, September 15th was Grandparents day at Jacob's school. Jacob Great-Grandpa was able to attend and they both said they had a blast. Pepa got to eat lunch with Jacob and they had Steak Fingers mashed potatoes and gravy and Chocolate milk. Jacob ate all of his food and half of his Pepa's food. After lunch Jacob took Pepa on a tour of the school. He showed him the library, his classroom (including the emergency whistle at his teachers desk, and his sticker chart and all his art work). Then he took him outside and showed him the vending machines...but told him he was not able to get anything out of them until he was in Junior High....and the playground. Pepa said Jacob showed him how he could do everything on the playground and he had a tight grip on his finger. I think he was going to keep him there all day. When Jacob went to play with some of his friends and Pepa was able to leave. Pepa was impressed with the school and with the way Jacob acted at school.
When I picked Jacob up from school that day and asked him how everything went he said he cried at school. When I asked why he cried he said because his Pepa left without saying by and giving him a hug and kiss. When we told Pepa he felt so bad and apologized to Jacob and everything was ok.
It was a good day though...and how many of us can say that we have Great-Grandparents that can still do stuff like this. The boys have both of their Great-Grandparents on Kenny's dad's side still alive and well and a Great-Grandpa on his mom's side still alive and they have a Great-Great Grandma on my mom's side still alive.
