Family Reunion

Friday we flew into Dallas around lunch time and dropped Jason, Lindsey and Julia off and then headed to Lake Texoma for Kenny's Grandma's family reunion. It was HOT HOT HOT. The boys really wanted to camp out in the tent they got for Easter so we went for it. It cooled off pretty good in the evenings so it wasn't to bad. Below are a few pictures from the reunion.

The boys ate, slept, swam, played and fished over and over and over again. Jacob and Tristen went swimming in the lake with Caleb and Cassadi but it didn't take Jared long to decide he wanted to go with them.

Lake Texoma

One morning before everyone had arrived at Mema and Pepa's trailer Jacob and Jared decided to play a game of washer's. Not sure who won between them two but when they took Mema on she beat them hand's down.

Little Mrs. Kensley at her first family reunion...she too had fun and we loved holding her.

Lots of visiting....Mema is in the purple...her sister is sitting across from her in the floral shirt. The daughter of Mema's sister, JoAnn, is sitting in the right side of the picture and the wife or one of Mema's brother's that has passed is in the left of the picture. Sorry not good with all the names.

The man in the left of this picture is Charlie Jo and it is Mema's brother. The other gentle man is married to the the lady in the picture above that was married to Mema's brother that has passed away.

Here is my two sweet boys. I could not ask for better kids. I thank God everyday for them.

They were ready for bed...first night in the tent. They loved it and slept very well.

Funny things the boys do and say....

After I picked Jared up from daycare and we were on our way to get Jacob we were stopped at a stop light and Jared said, "that is a red bud tree" and sure enough it was. I said, "you are really smart...how did you know that?" He said that his daddy told him that this morning. He looked out the other window and he said "mommy look at that big tree" and I said "yes it is big" and he said "yeh it is called a green bud." (April 8th, 2010)
This morning Jared got in bed with us and when Kenny asked him why he got in our bed he said he had a night dream that's why. (March 12, 2010)
Last night when we got home Kenny was outside and Jacob said, "I am going to go play a Frank on Daddy." I asked him if he meant a prank and he said, "No a Frank". Kenny said that Jacob got him with the Frank. (August 25, 2009)
Jared told me the other day...."Excuse me...I Bert(Burped)".....So I said, "Hi Bert I am Ernie". Jared said, "Mommy you not Ernie and I said I Bert." (July 2009)
Jared calls his sippy cup a sikky cup. (July 13, 2009)
Jared says Bannana "Pannana" (March 16, 2009)
Lately, when you tell Jared something he says, "I know it!" I told him yesterday that he was getting big and he said "I know it." Silly boy (Feb 27, 2009)
Jacob has always had a hard time understanding the difference of Today and Tomorrow. If you ever say we are going to do something Tomorrow he says you mean "Today when we wake up."(February 6, 2009)
Today on our way home from the mountains Kenny was acting silly and Jacob said that he was being "Retaded" when asked what that meant he said he was when you recorded a movie. I asked him why he thought his daddy was "Retaded" and he said because he is coping me. (February 7, 2009)
Jared and I were in the car and I asked him if he wanted his drink and he said, "No Thanks" and I said, "You're so nice" and he said, "Yeah I am smart". Silly little boy. (January 16, 2009)
Today on the way to pick up Jacob from school....Jared had a piece of gum and he kept taking it out of his mouth....I told him if he took it out again I would make him throw it out the window and he said, "OK Mister"....I told him I am a Misses because I am a girl and he said,"You are not a girl you are a mommy woman"...So there you have it I am finally not a girl anymore! (January 8, 2009)
Sunday the boys were all dressed and waiting on me to get ready and Kenny said come on mommy lets go...and Jacob said, "Women...they will never learn." Boys...boys...boys...were is my girl that understands. :-) (January 4, 2009)
Yesterday, on the way to pick up Jacob, Jared said, "Hey mom...me and you go get bubba...how 'bout that" and I said ok...how 'bout that...and he said, "I told you twice mom." (January 6, 2009)
Jared has been saying, "In the dirt" about everything lately...he will say "I love you, in the dirt"...he adds it to the end of almost everything he says. Not sure how he got started on this but he thinks it is so funny. (December 2008)
The other night on the way home from Nana's, Jared said see my booboo and was showing us his bandaid. We asked Jacob what happened and he said, "Well, we were going outside when nana told us not to and Jared fell on the concrete, Wow I am making that up...really he just fell and scrapped his leg." (December 23, 2008)
Yesterday when the boys and I got home they wanted to go outside and play and I was going to clean my car. We went in the house to get them a snack and I changed clothes. I guess I was taking longer to change than Jacob thought I should be and he told me that I am just like a woman. I asked him why he says that and he said because I was taking forever. (December 2008)
When you see a little black and white animal running across the road and you are praying it does not raise its tail Jared will tell you that you are not seeing a sKunk but instead are seeing a sTunk. That's right those sTunks really stink. When Jacob was first learning to talk he also called sKunks...sTunks.(November 2008)
Lately, when Jared is trying to do something and cannot seem to get it to work he says, "This is driving me nuts". (November 2008)
In the mornings when Jared comes into my bathroom I say "oh no the Monster is here" and he always says, "no mommy, it's Jared"! (November 2008)
