Going away party

Before Kenny started his new position as a Supervisor Accountant in Angola Africa his group in Duncan had a going away party for him. They had a special t-shirt for him......that he "Loved". Here is a few pictures of him being surprised with the shirt and a few pictures of his group.

Boy Scouts

Jacob joined Boy Scouts this year and he is loving it. He is a Tiger Cub this year. He sold popcorn at Walgreen's as his first fundraiser and he had a lot of fun. A few weekends after the popcorn sale he competed in his first cub scout derby. He did not place but he had a lot of fun.

I made it!!

I finally made it. I hijacked JoAnn's blog so I can post from Africa. I have attached some pics of my room and some views outside my window. Needless to say...you are not in Kansas anymore Toto!! You know you are not in the good ole USA when most of the "Plays of the Week" on Sportscenter(ESPN) are Soccer...more later.

Kenny

Kenny should be close to being in Africa. I think his plane lands about 10 or 10:30 pm our time, which will be about 4am their time. When we talked to him this morning when he got to Germany he looked very tired. He said he will be upgrading his seat to first class on the way back so he can get some sleep. I need to get my blog caught up so I can post what me and the boys do everyday so Kenny can see what is going on here. He will also be posting on here a little as well so we can see what it is like in Africa.
Today Jacob was good at school and made a 100 on his AR
test. Jared and I went and visited Kenny's grandparents and then worked at the sign shop. After we picked Jacob up from school I mowed while the boys played outside.

Summer Time Post 2 - Birthdays!!

So I am going to try and get caught up now.

We had Maddie and my birthdays in August and the boys birthday at the end of September.

We surprised Maddie by taking her to LOL and her and the boys were sooo excited. It was our first time to go there. Then we celebrated her birthday with her dad and Lindsey and Julia at Nana's house.

The boys made me my favorite banana cake for my birthday.

For the boys birthday we went to jump zone in OKC and before we went to our favorite place to eat in the city TEDS!! We had them sing Happy Birthday to the boys. Jacob didn't mind but Jared was a little shy.

Funny things the boys do and say....

After I picked Jared up from daycare and we were on our way to get Jacob we were stopped at a stop light and Jared said, "that is a red bud tree" and sure enough it was. I said, "you are really smart...how did you know that?" He said that his daddy told him that this morning. He looked out the other window and he said "mommy look at that big tree" and I said "yes it is big" and he said "yeh it is called a green bud." (April 8th, 2010)
This morning Jared got in bed with us and when Kenny asked him why he got in our bed he said he had a night dream that's why. (March 12, 2010)
Last night when we got home Kenny was outside and Jacob said, "I am going to go play a Frank on Daddy." I asked him if he meant a prank and he said, "No a Frank". Kenny said that Jacob got him with the Frank. (August 25, 2009)
Jared told me the other day...."Excuse me...I Bert(Burped)".....So I said, "Hi Bert I am Ernie". Jared said, "Mommy you not Ernie and I said I Bert." (July 2009)
Jared calls his sippy cup a sikky cup. (July 13, 2009)
Jared says Bannana "Pannana" (March 16, 2009)
Lately, when you tell Jared something he says, "I know it!" I told him yesterday that he was getting big and he said "I know it." Silly boy (Feb 27, 2009)
Jacob has always had a hard time understanding the difference of Today and Tomorrow. If you ever say we are going to do something Tomorrow he says you mean "Today when we wake up."(February 6, 2009)
Today on our way home from the mountains Kenny was acting silly and Jacob said that he was being "Retaded" when asked what that meant he said he was when you recorded a movie. I asked him why he thought his daddy was "Retaded" and he said because he is coping me. (February 7, 2009)
Jared and I were in the car and I asked him if he wanted his drink and he said, "No Thanks" and I said, "You're so nice" and he said, "Yeah I am smart". Silly little boy. (January 16, 2009)
Today on the way to pick up Jacob from school....Jared had a piece of gum and he kept taking it out of his mouth....I told him if he took it out again I would make him throw it out the window and he said, "OK Mister"....I told him I am a Misses because I am a girl and he said,"You are not a girl you are a mommy woman"...So there you have it I am finally not a girl anymore! (January 8, 2009)
Sunday the boys were all dressed and waiting on me to get ready and Kenny said come on mommy lets go...and Jacob said, "Women...they will never learn." Boys...boys...boys...were is my girl that understands. :-) (January 4, 2009)
Yesterday, on the way to pick up Jacob, Jared said, "Hey mom...me and you go get bubba...how 'bout that" and I said ok...how 'bout that...and he said, "I told you twice mom." (January 6, 2009)
Jared has been saying, "In the dirt" about everything lately...he will say "I love you, in the dirt"...he adds it to the end of almost everything he says. Not sure how he got started on this but he thinks it is so funny. (December 2008)
The other night on the way home from Nana's, Jared said see my booboo and was showing us his bandaid. We asked Jacob what happened and he said, "Well, we were going outside when nana told us not to and Jared fell on the concrete, Wow I am making that up...really he just fell and scrapped his leg." (December 23, 2008)
Yesterday when the boys and I got home they wanted to go outside and play and I was going to clean my car. We went in the house to get them a snack and I changed clothes. I guess I was taking longer to change than Jacob thought I should be and he told me that I am just like a woman. I asked him why he says that and he said because I was taking forever. (December 2008)
When you see a little black and white animal running across the road and you are praying it does not raise its tail Jared will tell you that you are not seeing a sKunk but instead are seeing a sTunk. That's right those sTunks really stink. When Jacob was first learning to talk he also called sKunks...sTunks.(November 2008)
Lately, when Jared is trying to do something and cannot seem to get it to work he says, "This is driving me nuts". (November 2008)
In the mornings when Jared comes into my bathroom I say "oh no the Monster is here" and he always says, "no mommy, it's Jared"! (November 2008)
