Jacob had his very first Basketball game every today and he LOVED it....more than soccer he said. He is very tall for his age, probably a head taller than most kids his age. They play 6 on 6 and it is just half a court. They practice for 30 mins. and then they have a 30 min. game that is 3 quarters long. He would play all 3 quarters if he could. Each player has a color bracelet on that matches a player on the opposite team. This is the player that they must guard. They do this so that players are matched up with players of their own skill level. I didn't know if it would work or not but the kids really do pay attention to it. Kenny and Brent(a friend of ours) are the coaches. At the beginning of each game they call the kids names over the speakers and they get to run out of the tunnel to the benches. They are smilling from ear to ear when they run out.
After Jacob's game we head over to watch Maddie play. She is doing a great job as well. She is probably a head shorter than everyone on her team....so we tell her she can run between their legs and get the ball.
